Moves my ride computer closer to my eyeballs and frees up space on the bars.

I like stem cap-mounts because they help me solve my handlebar crowding issues, while keeping my accessories in convenient places. This mount shipped with the Garmin fitting installed, which is exactly what I needed; GUB did include the other fittings, too. Installation goes quickly. I had one concern that proved not to be an issue. My Garmin edge turns to lock into place. I was concerned that by turning the Garmin, I would turn this mount out of alignment. Just bolt it down firmly and the mount will remain aligned correctly when you lock your ride computer into place. And because the bottom and top parts of the mount are made of aluminum, you can tighten that bolt snug at the hinge so your ride computer remains level. So do I recommend the product? Yes, and I can confidently recommend other products by this manufacturer. I think I own 8 or more GUB products. Their name needs some work, but they really understand aluminum bike accessories.

    Perfect for the 840 Edge

This top cap replacement Garmin mount helped me to keep my Garmin further away from my handlebar bag, so mounting and unmounting the Garmin to move it to other bikes. Its adjustable angle works great whether you like to crouch down to ride or just sit up right and cruise around. You can adjust it easily, yet is stable while riding. It came with all the screws that I needed. If I was going to say anything negative, it would be that the instructions for assembly aren’t super clear, but anyone spending $300-$500 on a Garmin, already has enough skill to figure it out. Garmin snaps into it easily, and pops out with a 90 degree twist. It has not fallen off while riding. It works great with my Garmin 840 Edge. I can not speak for other uses.

    Worked for Night Ride!

Worked Great for night riding. Plastic inserts were cheaply made though.

    Skip it

Avoid this. When attempting to tighten the mount to the stem, the supplied mounting bolt cuts into and locks itself to the the cap preventing the mount to be secured in the proper or desired orientation. Poorly designed. I returned it because it’s useless

    Awesome for a dual crown!

Outstanding! I just got a Downhill bike with a Dual Crown fork. We went shuttle riding last weekend (you bring the bikes up the hill on a truck and everyone but the driver rides down the hill, rinse and repeat until the sun goes down) and I recorded the ride with my Apple Watch which was fine but I wanted to use my Wahoo to be able to pause it for the shuttling and resume for the riding. The problem? I don’t want my Wahoo out front in case I crash and a regular stem mount like I have on my other mountain in bikes won’t work with this style of fork. This attachment fits beautifully and seems to be pretty quality for the money. I did install it backwards of how the logo is but you can just flip the plastic mounting piece around and it works like it should. It came with a tapered bolt that I didn’t end up using as my factory one worked fine but I appreciate that being included. It also came with a total of 3 Wahoo mounts for when you break one (if you crash, your bike computer will break the mount instead of breaking the device, I’ve done it before [that’s a good thing]). Now I can have my Wahoo mounted on my Downhill bike safely behind the bars and out of the way but still super easy to see and reach if I need it. I’m stoked!

    Perfect.

This thing is great! I wasted my time and money on all those other cheap, plastic out-front mounts with a tiny screw holding it on the bars! Inevitably it would always loosen and it would constantly flop over the handlebars. Then I found this, it works fantastic! Made out of some kind of strong alloy and feels solid and quality. Holds tight, looks good. What else is there?. Don’t pay attention to any of the other minor whiners about this, just get it!

Mounts well to high recumbent steerer

I haven’t actually ridden with this yet but it’s super solid so far and will update if it proves to be otherwise. For the benefit of other recumbent riders, I did want to show how well this mounted on my RANS high racer (side view of the top of the steerer extension, stem and this Top Cap Holder with a Garmin Expore 2 mounted) .Note in the image that the unit can be installed “backwards” (at the cost or benefit of moving the unit about an inch closer to the rider) so that the computer mount part is free to pivot through a much wider range. From the manufacturer’s images, I was a bit worried that the unit wouldn’t have enough “range of motion” to provide the correct viewing angle but installing it “backwards” makes that a non-issue. So far so good!

Hard to tighten properly cause the bolt head is too big but a good product once fixed

I like GUB stuff and been using their products for years. Not sure I get this one though. The countersink bolt head is too wide to fit in the recess in the stem cap. I mangled one tightening before I realized it. You’re going to want to turn it down to get proper tightening or the stem cap will be fixed to the head and just turn as you’re tightening without the ability to adjust. Worked great after it was sorted.
