This is one of those mods that looks awesome and can be useful… but depends a lot on how you ride.Pros:• Brings shifter up to hand level — easier shifting while seated• Good for riders with mobility issues or big tires/lift kits• Simple bolt-on design• Adds a “race/UTV-style” feelCons:• Can feel sloppy or less precise vs foot shifter• Adds leverage = more stress on shift shaft• Can bend if you ride rough or flip it• Might interfere with body/leg movementWhere it actually helps:Slow trail ridingWork use (back-and-forth shifting)Mud riding where you don’t want to move your footWhere it kinda sucks:Aggressive ridingQuick shiftingTight trails (can snag stuff)Bottom line:Nice comfort mod if you ride chillNot something I’d run if you ride hard or fast

ATV Shifter Lever
I thought this would be a cool modification to add to my 2003 Honda Rancher. I was mistaken on that ideas, due to my horrible experiences. The idea of this shift lever is great, except it needs a whole new redesign. The shifter does fit, just not the way I would like. If the handle where you grip it would curve toward you a bit then it would be easier to grasp. Also then it wouldn’t bang into the atv’s plastic every time I need to downshift. I tried to position the lever in a few different spots but would still hit the atv’s plastic on ever down shift.

Longer Shifter Makes Riding More Comfortable
I installed this AUTOVIC extended gear shifter on my ATV, and the extra length made a noticeable difference right away. The lever is easier to reach, so I don’t have to lean forward or stretch as much when changing gears.The steel construction feels solid and much heavier-duty than the original lever. The black finish also looks clean and matches the ATV well.Installation was straightforward. I removed the old shifter, slid this one onto the shaft, and tightened the included bolt. Everything fit securely without needing any modifications.After a few rides, the lever has stayed tight and hasn’t shown any bending or looseness. The longer design is especially helpful during extended rides because it puts my arm in a more natural position.Overall, it’s a simple but useful upgrade for compatible Honda and Yamaha ATVs.
